KYURAMEN ๐ - 13342 37TH AVE, FLUSHING, QUEENS, NY 11354
Flushing, Queens, is a vibrant neighborhood known for its rich cultural diversity and culinary delights! Among the many dining options, Kyuramen stands out for many reasons! With its recent reopening and new tasting menu, they are definitely making waves in the local food scene. Let me take you through my dining experience at Kyuramen, Flushing, from the ambiance to the must-try dishes, and why this spot should be on your radar.
Located at 133-42 37th Ave, Flushing, NY
Kyuramen is conveniently situated in the heart of one of New York Cityโs most dynamic neighborhoods.
Parking is a little iffy depending on time and day you go - I wouldn't bet on street parking unless you are willing to walk a handful of blocks. Thankfully, right around the corner, there is a parking garage, it is where I parked. I was in there for about two hours and paid $12! Not bad at all.
37-20 Prince St. This is the Prince Plaza garage, operated by ICON Parking. It is located on the West side of Prince St. between 37th Ave. and 38th Ave.
Walking into Kyuramen, you're immediately struck by its modern yet cozy atmosphere, very cute, very comfy and homey. The decornblends contemporary design with traditional Japanese elements, creating a space that is both inviting and comfortable. Whether you're seated at a communal table or in a more private nook (literal beehives!), the restaurantโs layout encourages a social and relaxed dining experience.
The staff at Kyuramen are known for their warm hospitality, making every guest feel like part of the family. Our waitress was so cute! she asked us how we were doing a handful of times, yet none of the times were over bearing or pushy, she genuinely cared!
The Menu:
Hereโs a closer look at some of the dishes I tried:
Honeycomb Platter:
Super playful appetizer features a variety of small bites that include chili garlic edamame, lobster and chashu salad, and shrimp tempura. The platter is not only delicious but also a great way to sample several flavors in one go.
Yakitori Platter:
This dish brings together expertly grilled skewers of chicken, beef, pork belly, and scallops. The meats are tender and flavorful.
YinYang Bowl:
For ramen lovers, the YinYang Bowl is a must-try. This dish offers a double portion of ramen, loaded with toppings like pork, shrimp tempura, scallops, and bamboo shoots. The broth is rich and satisfying, providing that quintessential ramen experience of sweet, tangy, spicy and buzzzzzzz!
Seafood Kamameshi:
A unique twist on traditional Japanese rice dishes, this kamameshi features a flavorful mix of shrimp, scallops, eel, and sushi rice. The dish is cooked in an iron pot, which gives the rice a delightful crispy texture with a slight seafood taste.
Dessert -
Matcha Pudding:
For dessert, I tried the Matcha Pudding. While matcha isn't typically my favorite, this dessert is a hit among many diners. Its creamy texture and rich flavor make it a satisfying end to the meal. I found it unique in aesthetic. I did try a bite and it did give me earthy very powder like texture.
Beverages:
Thai Iced Tea -
Self explanatory.. super creamy, super delicious.
Amazing Lemonade -
Tangy, sweet, and refreshing:hint of cucumber really adds that kick!
