I like fun facts!

Did you know thereโ€™s a secret subway station under the City Hall in NYC? The beautifully tiled City Hall station was closed to the public in 1945, but you can still catch a glimpse of it by staying on the 6 train after its last stop. Itโ€™s a hidden gem beneath the bustling city streets!

GOLDEN MALL ้ป„้‡‘ๅ•†ๅœบ FOOD CRAWL:
If you're a foodie like me, always on the hunt for exciting eats, Golden Mall NYC in Flushing, Queens, is a treasure trove of delicious bites and diverse culinary experiences. Nestled in a vibrant part of the city, this food court is packed with vendors offering everything from savory snacks to sweet treats. The best part? You never know where to startโ€”each corner you turn leads to a new, mouth-watering adventure! I was so happy to be invited to explore and experience a new world of cultures!

Stop 1: Ginza Don NYC โ€“ Japanese BBQ Goodness

                                                                                       GINZA DON - JAPANESE BBQ

Our first stop on this food crawl was Ginzadon, a Japanese-style BBQ spot that serves up some of the crispiest and most flavorful dishes Iโ€™ve had in a while. We kicked things off with their Prawn Tempuraโ€”crispy, golden bites of heaven! But the real showstopper? The Beef Donburi (a Japanese rice bowl topped with thinly sliced, grilled beef). The meat was cut to perfectionโ€”thin, tender, and packed with smoky goodness from the grill. Watching the chef expertly grill the beef in front of us made the experience that much more special. Every bite was a celebration of flavor, earning a solid 10/10 in my book! (Also comes with a side miso soup and seaweed salad, what more could one want?!)

Stop 2: Vivi Bubble Tea โ€“ Sweet, Retro Vibes

After savoring all that deliciousness, I craved something sweet, refreshing, and a little cute to match the mood, and me!

                                                                                              VIVI BUBBLE TEA

Enter Vivi Bubble Tea in Flushing! The moment I stepped inside, I was hit with retro vibes, complete with colorful decor that begged for a quick photo op. I spent a solid 20 minutes just chatting and soaking in the atmosphere. My new besties behind the counter? Absolute gems. They recommended their new signature orange-flavored drink, and let me tell youโ€”it was like sipping on a refreshing, elevated version of Sunkist, made with fresh oranges and chewy tapioca pearls. So cold, so quenching, and so perfect!

And just when I thought things couldnโ€™t get any better, I spotted the Strawberry Yakult drink on the menu. Imagine those old-school strawberries and cream candies you loved as a kid but in drink formโ€”pure heaven! This might just be one of the best bubble tea drinks Iโ€™ve ever had, hands down.

Fun fact: Golden Mall is one of Flushings oldest food courts on Main Street.

Stop 3: Good Coconut โ€“ A Flavor Explosion!

                                                                                             GOOD COCONUT

At Good Coconut, I was treated to something that was more than just a snackโ€”it was an experience. The coconut shaving technique they use is so precise, I was in awe! Watching them expertly handle the coconut made me feel like I was witnessing a surgeon at workโ€”seriously impressive stuff. For $12.99, the shaved coconut snowball was packed with incredible, refreshing flavor, and the $7.58 Mango Coconut Milk drink? Absolutely delicious! Thereโ€™s a reason this is their best sellerโ€”the balance of flavors was out of this world! It's moments like these that remind me how fortunate I am to experience different cultures, culinary techniques, and craftsmanship all in one place. Truly a one-of-a-kind stop!

Stop 4: Original Cake โ€“ Sweet Treats Worth the Hype

                                                                                 ORIGINAL CAKE

For our final stop, we ventured to Original Cake, a vendor specializing in Taiwanese Castella cakes. If youโ€™ve never had Castella cake before, youโ€™re in for a real treat. Soft, airy, and just the right amount of sweetness, these cakes were the perfect way to end the food crawl. But waitโ€”thereโ€™s more! Original Cake also serves up delectable egg tarts, taro brulee, (with the most beautiful purple inside, ever), and a range of other baked goods that are just as exciting to watch being made as they are to eat. The craftsmanship on display here is remarkable, and you canโ€™t beat the prices!

Golden Mallโ€™s unique blend of culinary experiences makes it a must-visit spot, itโ€™s a food lover's paradise. From savory BBQ to refreshing bubble tea, to coconut shaving mastery to indulgent Taiwanese cakes, every stop is packed with flavor, culture, and memories that will last a lifetime.

If youโ€™re in Flushing, this is a food court that absolutely deserves to be rediscovered.

If youโ€™re ever in the area, make sure to stop by these gemsโ€”you wonโ€™t regret it!
